"On the south shore of Lake Crescent, about 25 miles (40 km) west of Port Angeles is historic Lake Crescent Lodge. The lodge was built in 1916 and has cabins, motel rooms and rooms in the historic lodge building available for rent. There is also a dining room, lounge and coffee bar, gift shop and boat rentals. In 1937, President Franklin D. Roosevelt journeyed to the Olympic Peninsula and visited Lake Crescent Lodge! He would go on to sign into law the creation of Olympic National Park in 1938."
